My professor for Small Group Communications gave a us a project where we would choose a space and observe it and record our observations about the physical space, people, interactions and other things that happened in that space. It was essentially like a miniature ethnographic field assignment without actually participating in the culture we were observing. Me and three of my classmates chose to analyze Brunswick Zone, a bowling alley. We gathered the data that we found and drafted a report (all of which was written by me as I synthesized all of our notes together and gave detailed analysis to it) and a presentation that we gave to the class.
