Get me out of here, this party is so boring. I don’t know why I let my roommates drag me here, I don’t even know any of these people. I am just sitting here being a wallflower at this point, watching events unfold. Frat guy #1 just hit on a girl, and is seeming to continue bothering her as she tries to leave. Said girl hits on frat guy #1 and now he’s on the floor, doubled over in pain. Humorous, but not as interesting as frat guy #2, who’s currently trying to down as many shots of Everclear as possible while racing some other people. Seems like he lost, since he’s now running to the bathroom, holding his mouth like it’s about to fall off. Whatever, let’s see what’s going on elsewhere.<\/p>\n

I could go upstairs, but only god knows what cesspool is currently being made up there, I think I’ll just take a breather outside on the patio. Hmm, it’s nice out here. Warm winds on a spring night, and not too much noise since everyone else is inside. Or, at least almost everyone. Seems to be a couple more like me out here now, trying to get away from all the hustle and bustle inside. Let’s see if I can start up a conversation.<\/p>\n

“Hello, I’m Tucker,” I say to the long-haired girl. She seems a little startled, but I’m pretty sure she could have seen me approaching.<\/p>\n

“Oh, hi. Christine, nice to meet you.” She seems to have come out of her thoughts now, and is actually focused on the world around her.<\/p>\n

“So, why are you out here instead of enjoying the party?”<\/p>\n

“I could be asking you the same thing. I just needed to get away from some of the vibes in there. Wasn’t really feeling it.”<\/p>\n

“I understand that. I’m only here because I was dragged along. I rather be back at my place studying the stars.”<\/p>\n

“Oh, you’re into astronomy?” Her eyes brighten at the notion.<\/p>\n

“In a way, I’m more focused on the astrology, though. It’s so I can read better.”<\/p>\n

“Oh, this is even more intriguing. I didn’t realize I’d find a fellow tarot enthusiast here.”<\/p>\n

“How’d you know that?” I’m pretty sure I was careful enough to not let that slip. I didn’t want to be labeled as the weird guy all the time.<\/p>\n

“Let’s just say, I have a way of seeing the unseen. I’d love to hear more about your studies.”<\/p>\n

So maybe this party isn’t so bad after all. Guess I’ll hang around a little while longer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
